Sr. Manager, Digital Advertising

Nashville, Tennessee

As a Senior Manager of Digital Advertising on BMG’s Marketing Operations team, you’ll lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns, ensuring efficient operations and driving results through data-driven insights and industry best practices.

This role requires a strong understanding of the digital advertising landscape, a passion for efficiency and process optimization, and a proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a hands-on executor, and an effective leader with a passion for innovation and team development.


What You’ll Be Doing.

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and implement digital advertising strategies aligned with overall marketing goals.
  • Create and manage budgets for digital advertising campaigns.
  • Oversee the setup, execution, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns across various channels (e.g., search, social, display, programmatic, CTV/OTT, etc.).
  • Identify and implement new digital advertising opportunities and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain standardized processes and documentation for digital advertising operations.

Performance Measurement & Optimization:

  • Track, analyze, and report on the performance of digital advertising campaigns.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven optimizations to enhance campaign performance.
  • Build dashboards and reporting structures for integrated marketing campaigns, lead generation, and customer attribution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in digital advertising.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of digital advertising specialists.
  • Collaborate with other marketing teams (e.g., content, social media, email) to ensure cohesive marketing efforts.
  • Partner with sales and other cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with business goals.
  • Manage and optimize processes for lead capture, processing, and handoff to sales.

Must Haves
  • Proven experience in digital advertising, marketing operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
  • Ability to develop and execute data-driven digital advertising strategies.
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising platforms, analytics tools, and marketing technologies (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads, TikTok Ads, DSPs, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, marketing automation platforms, etc.).
  • Understand data flow through marketing platforms and maintain data quality within the marketing database.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems related to digital advertising campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven experience in digital media buying, with hands-on campaign management experience in music, media, or entertainment sectors preferred. (Experience in other sectors will also be considered.)
  • Proficiency in managing campaigns on Meta, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, and other advertising platforms, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools.
  • Deep understanding of attribution models, conversion tracking, and digital advertising best practices.
  • Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze performance metrics and suggest optimizations for achieving campaign goals.
  • Excellent project management skills, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and working with remote and local stakeholders.
  • Passion for the music industry, with an ability to identify and engage target audiences for artists and releases.
  • Proactive in staying up-to-date on digital advertising trends and implementing innovative approaches.
  • Demonstrates a can-do approach, embraces challenges, and fosters a collaborative environment.
  • Thrives in dynamic settings, quickly adjusting to changes in priorities and strategies.
  • Takes initiative, drives projects forward, and maintains focus in fast-paced environments.
  • Approaches obstacles with creativity, offering innovative solutions and fresh ideas.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Strong knowledge of SEO/SEM, programmatic buying, or connected TV (CTV) advertising.
  • Experience with AI-driven marketing tools and automation to enhance digital marketing efforts.
  • Familiarity with first-party data strategies in a post-cookie world to improve audience targeting.
  • Proven ability to lead global marketing initiatives and align them with local market needs.

Pay Range

$74,000 – $79,000 per annum

The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications and business needs. In addition to the range above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and applicable benefits.
