About the role
London Records are seeking an experienced, full-time Production Manager to join the team. The role will be working across both new artists and the iconic London Records catalogue. Current projects include: Orbital, Goldie, Fine Young Cannibals, Joalin, Alewya, Happy Mondays. The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar role at a record label.
Job Overview
As a Production Manager, you will oversee the physical and digital production process for releases alongside the wider production team (based in UK & France) while also assisting in A&R co-ordination. You will work closely with content ops, marketing teams, artists, managers, and distribution partners to ensure smooth production and release schedules.
The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management:
- Manage the end-to-end production process for physical and digital music releases, including vinyl, CDs, and streaming platforms.
- Coordinate with UK/Paris production team, content ops, manufacturing, design, and distribution partners to meet release deadlines.
- Work with marketing team and wider production team to build specs for releases.
- Bring knowledge of new formats and creative packaging. A passion for production developments in vinyl, CD and printing.
- Keep up to date with streaming platform requirements and latest developments.
- Oversee metadata accuracy, quality control, and product specifications.
- Liaising with teams to set PPDs and communicate across departments.
- Work with internal and external teams to set deadlines and ensure all assets (artwork, credits, masters) are delivered on time.
- Approving final physical production components with artists, management and internal team for manufacture.
- Track production budgets and manage costs effectively.
- Oversee stock delivery and splits.
- Manage the stock levels with all distributors and ensure key titles are in stock.
- Responsible for release schedule- working closely with marketing team to keep up to date.
A&R Coordination:
- Manage artist deliverables such as demos, masters, and remixes.
- Assist A&R & marketing teams with archive.
- Archiving all deliverables, and production assets.
- Ensure all label copy is correct and delivered for each release.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the marketing and wider production team to ensure seamless coordination between production schedules and promotional campaigns.
- Liaise with artists, managers, and internal teams to align creative and production timelines.
- Ensure all departments are aligned on deadlines and expectations for releases.
Requirements
- Previous proven experience at a record label in a production role.
- Expert understanding of the production process across digital and physical formats.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with a team.
- Knowledge of music production processes, distribution, and metadata requirements.
- Understanding of current music industry trends and digital distribution platforms.
- Ability to problem-solve under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Passion for music and artist development.
